Wednesdays, January 9, 16 & 23 (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
“How to Teach the Bible” is the topic of our spring Foundations classes.  You’ll learn how to identify the “big idea” of a Scripture passage, develop that idea into a teaching outline, and package your points for effective communication. Join us Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 PM on January 9, 16 & 23.  Dinner and childcare are provided.  Please register through the bulletin Connect Card.

Are you interested in learning more about the church or possibly becoming a member?  If so, then please join us for our next informational lunch on Sunday, January 13, from 12-2 PM.  Lunch and childcare will be provided.  Complete the Connect Card found on the Sunday bulletin or you may register by e-mail to Denese at shrum@cornerstonecbc.org (please include names and ages of children).

We are excited about the upcoming 2019 spring semester of the Performing Arts Academy (PAA) at Cornerstone Community Bible Church!  The semester will last from the second week of January until the middle of May. Musical instruction will be available for group or individual piano, group or individual guitar and individual vocal.  Lesson times and rates are handled directly with the individual instructors.  Please contact Jeremy Good at good@cornerstonecbc.org for further information or any questions you may have about the PAA.  We look forward to another great semester of learning!  The purpose of the PAA is to train students in the field of music with the hope that they will be able to develop and utilize their talents for God's glory.

Financial Peace University is a money-management class taught by America’s most trusted financial guru, Dave Ramsey.  Through DVD sessions and group interaction, you will learn the basics of budgeting, dumping debt, planning for the future, and much more.  This nine-week course meets Wednesday nights, beginning February 6, 2019.  Please register at http://fpu.com/1081737.

Student Ministry
Sunday, January 13 (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
What does the Bible actually say?  How can you be impacted by learning all of the Bible?  Is there wisdom there for you? Starting January 13, from 6:30-8:30 PM, High School students are invited to “Look at the Book”.  We will be going through every book of the Bible in hopes of getting to know the Word of God and, most importantly, the God of the Word! 

Wednesday, January 16 (7:00 – 9:00 p.m.)
All Junior High students are invited to join us for this high energy event every Wednesday, beginning January 16, from 7-9 PM.  We’ll have games, mixers, fellowship, and a message of encouragement!  

Friday, Saturday & Sunday, February 8-10
Camp Revive Winter Camp is a great winter retreat to refresh our souls and ignite our year!  Filled with God-centered teaching and exciting games and activities, this camp is an awesome experience for students, grades 6-12. This camp will take place February 8-10, 2019 at Camp Tejas in Giddings, TX.  Cost is $155 per student which covers all transportation and food.  All students must submit a completed release form.

Women's Ministry
Sunday, January 6, 13 & 20 (after both services)
Sign-up for Women’s Bible Study will be held in the lobby on Sunday, January 6, 13, and 20.  We are delighted to announce that Women’s Bible study will be diving into Jen Wilkin’s book, “Women of the Word” this spring.  If you hunger for God’s Word and desire to know Him more deeply, please join us as we learn together how to study our Bibles with greater intention.  Bible study begins January 30.   For more information, please contact GayAnn Fuller at emsgayann@gmail.com.
Friday, January 18 (9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.)
All ladies are invited to join us for “Brunch Bunch” from 9-11 AM on Friday, January 18, at the Black Walnut Café in Sugar Land (outside courtyard of First Colony Mall, next to James Avery Jewelry).  Please come, have a seat, have a cup of coffee, and have a moment of respite and fellowship.  We want you to join us!  Invite your friends and family.  

Men's Ministry

January 24 (6:30 p.m.)

Men, join us for a night of bowling on Thursday, January 24, at 6:30 PM at the Regal Grand Parkway 22 Cinema (formally the Palladium, located at 7301 West Grand Parkway South, Richmond, TX 77407).  Cost is $5 per person plus shoe rental.  Everyone is welcome!


Thursdays 7 p.m. or Fridays 7 a.m. 
This semester our men's groups will be studying the book of Philippians together.  Study guides will soon be available for $10 in the church lobby.  Starting January 31, our Thursday evening men’s group will meet at the church at 7:00 p.m., and starting February 1, our Friday morning men's group will meet at Rudy's BBQ at 7:00 a.m.  All men are welcome to join us.

Hispanic Ministry

Wednesday, January 9 (7:00 p.m.)
Every Wednesday at 7 PM, starting January 9, we are offering our program STEPS OF REDEMPTION.  This is a discipleship program helps you pursue redemption in Christ from sin and suffering by teaching you to know and live out the gospel.  Participants will meet weekly and walk through the curriculum with a mentor.  Registration is required.  For more information, contact Pastor Samuel at placencio@cornerstonecbc.com.

Ministry Opportunities

On Saturday, January 12, 9 AM-12 PM, here at Cornerstone, we are partnering with Second Mile Mission to host a food distribution for approximately 150+ pre-screened, needy families.  This is a great opportunity to reach out to our community.  If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact Nora Medina at 713-855-7881.
The Care Ministry Team here at Cornerstone is currently welcoming individuals who would like to provide Christ-like love and practical assistance to members of our church family during times of personal illness, the arrival of a new baby, transition, or crisis.  If you feel that you would like to be a member of our team or would like more information, please contact Denese Shrum at office@cornerstonecbc.org, or the church office at 281-545-2422.
