BORP: Adaptive Sports and Recreation LOGODonate Now

October/November 2017 BORP Newsletter

Dear BORP Supporter,

We started out the month with the fantastic news that we met our REV goal to raise $210,000! The 15th Annual Revolution Ride & Festival was a day to remember, with perfect weather, amazing volunteers, and incredible riders whose fundraising efforts, along with the support of our awesome event sponsors, pushed us over our goal. We can’t thank everyone enough for making this a memorable and successful event.

However, just two weeks after the REV, Sonoma was struck by disaster when fires broke out in the middle of the night on Sunday, October 8. Many BORP families were affected along with tens of thousands of others in the North Bay. We also learned the heartbreaking news that former BORP youth participant, Christina Hanson perished. We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Christina’s friends and family, and to everyone impacted by this disaster. Click here to read a tribute to Christina from her childhood friend and BORP teammate, Christine Burke.

Looking ahead to November, we hope you'll put Friday, November 24, BORP Night at Oracle Arena on your calendar when the Warriors will take on the Chicago Bulls. Like last year, a portion of the ticket sales will benefit our youth sports program and the BORP Jr. Road Warriors will get to play on the court before the game! Click here to purchase tickets (use promo code BORP). Click here for info about purchasing accessible seats. We will also have a rowing clinic next month, on November 4 and invite BORP participants to come to the free event and try adaptive rowing - register here.
