BORP: Adaptive Sports and Recreation LOGODonate Now

September 2017 BORP Newsletter

Dear BORP Supporter,

The REV is only two weeks away, and we are all looking forward to another amazing day. And an important day for BORP – about 20% of our annual budget is raised through the Revolution. Our goal this year is $210,000, and we are hoping our usual September push will take us over the top. It’s not too late to join the ride or to schedule a virtual ride and help raise funds for BORP’s adaptive sports and recreation programs.

Long before joining BORP’s staff, as someone who has always been active, and the father of two boys who actively participated in recreational and competitive sports for many years, I knew firsthand how important and central these activities are—for better health, fitness, and happiness. We’re talking about a major contributor to quality of life, and let’s not forget FUN. Everyone should have, and needs, these opportunities, and BORP makes that possible for kids and adults with physical disabilities, injured military veterans and anyone with mobility and/or visual impairments. BORP is a game-changer and the REV makes the game possible. And if you’re not supporting a particular rider or team, you can make a general donation to BORP and the Revolution. Hope to see you on the 23rd!

On a more somber note, we were saddened by the news of the recent passing of Kathryn Black (KB). We extend our sincere sympathies to KB’s family and friends. She will never be forgotten for all she did for BORP over many years.

Remembering Kathryn "KB" Black

“This week, BORP lost an awesome athlete, coach, and friend. Kathryn 'KB' Black was one of a kind. And truly, it’s wrong to say that we lost her, because her competitive spirit, support, and love will live on in all of us at BORP for as long as we keep on pushing.” -Tim Orr
