ORIENTATION GUIDES NEEDED
We are seeking to expand our group of fun, energetic, knowledgeable, and reliable 7th through 11th grade students to serve as Orientation Guides to new students and families.  An Orientation Guide’s primary goal is to introduce prospective students and families to Horizon Honors.  Orientation Guides serve as tour guides, shadow partners, info-session ambassadors, and more.  If you have a desire to help new students meet current students and teachers, answer questions, and facilitate discussions, then this could be a great role for you and a way to TAKE ACTION to support others.  Applications will be in the Secondary Office starting Monday, August 6th.  The deadline to return applications is Tuesday, August 15th by 3:45 PM in the front office.  A parent signature is required on the application for submission.
LOWEST PRICE ON YEARBOOKS ALL YEAR!
The Horizon Honors Secondary Yearbook is an award-winning book five times over.  Be sure to reserve your copy of the 2018-19 yearbook at Jostens.com now - prices are the lowest that they will be all year!  Don't procrastinate!

COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER
Do you want to solve important problems in the world and help others? What if you could help provide clean drinking water to everyone? Or you had the ability to develop a cure for cancer? Maybe you have thought about how you can stop the pollution of our planet, or maybe the idea of creating a rocket for space exploration just sounds fun.
Join us for a morning with representatives from ASU's Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and learn about a college and career exploration program called Young Engineers Shape the World (YESW). This two-year program takes place during out-of-school time. Through hands-on activities, this program helps students learn about the various fields of engineering and seeks to increase the representation of women in the engineering fields. To register, please visit YESW. We are accepting Fall 2018 10th and 11th grade students.

If you are unable to attend an informational session but are still interested in applying to be a part of the program, please visit Young Engineers

PARKING & TRAFFIC REMINDERS
  • Do NOT allow your children to exit or enter your vehicle from the driver's side of the car. Our staff members on duty will be happy to help students out of cars from the passenger (curb) side in the mornings.
  • Do NOT park in any painted curb areas on campus. This includes the areas near our school offices and alongside the building/gate areas. Remember that if our red curbed or yellowed curbed areas are not open, emergency vehicles do not have the ability to help community members in need. City of Phoenix may ticket violators.
  • Do NOT block parking spaces and/or traffic flow when waiting to pick up a child. This includes the church lots.
  • Do NOT cross the street illegally. Use the crosswalks.
