MS GIRLS SOFTBALL
The girls softball team fought a hard game against Fountain Hills losing 9-4 in the last inning on Wednesday, November 29th.

Two days later the team defeated Paradise Valley Christian. Lucy Holweger did a great job pitching a complete game for her first win this season. The girls supported Lucy by making several crucial outs when needed in the victory.

The girls clenched another win defeating Joy Christian on Monday, December 4th, winning 24-2. Jessica Leake pitched a great game striking out several opponents, earning her first win this season. Lucy Holweger hit two in the park home runs to lead in scoring. Go Eagles!

MS CROSS COUNTRY
The co-ed cross team rallied some awesome results at the Fountain Hills Invitational on Tuesday, November 30th.  Alyssa Gauer placed 10th with Keira Hickie placing in the top 15.  The results for the boys were a bit more staggered.  Nate Magro ran a tight race to place 11th.  The team ran a hard race with some impressive times.

On Tuesday, December 5th the team continued to improve their times at the Northwest Christian Invitational in Glendale.  Alyssa Gauer took 7th place while Keira Hickie took 11th place after an opposing runner passed her at the last second.  The entire team achieved their personal best.  Come check out the excitement at Pecos Park on Tuesday, December 12th.  The race starts at 3:30 PM.

Congratulations to our MS Co-Ed Cross Country team.

PARENT PARTNERSHIP
STAFF APPRECIATION COMMITTEE NEEDS YOUR HELP
On Wednesday, December 13th, we will honor our entire staff of over 150 with homemade cookies and a hot chocolate and tea bar to help usher in the holidays. We have the hot chocolate and tea covered, but are in need of yummy cookies from our amazing Horizon Honors families.  Volunteers are encouraged to make cookies using family recipes.
  • No store bought treats, please.
  • NO NUTS of any kind can be in the cookies this includes peanut butter.
  • Please note when you sign up what type of cookies you are making.
  • We are asking for all types of cookies:  Chocolate, Sugar, Vegan, Gluten Free, etc.
  • Please print one copy of your recipe to place next to your dessert so that the teachers and staff can take a picture of it if they would like to have it.
***We would also be grateful if you would bring your cookies in a disposable container. We will have platters to place all of the cookies out for the staff.

Don't have time to bake?  We are planning on having a gift card raffle for the staff at this event, so if you are willing to donate a  gift card of your choice, there is a place on this sign up to do that as well, thank you.

All donations should be dropped off the morning of the event, Wednesday, December 13th, no later than 9 a.m.in the Parent Partnership Office.

Many thanks in advance for your help. We could not do something of this magnitude without all of our wonderful parent volunteers!

- The Staff Appreciation Committee!
