ATHLETICS
BOYS BASKETBALL SILVER TEAM
On March 6th, the boys lost to Phoenix Country Day 51-46. After struggling to find their rhythm in the first half, the Eagles started to play good offense and defense in the second half but to no avail. Caleb Harbertson and Krishna Ramini rallied some good plays.

On March 8th the boys lost to Fountain Hills Middle School 58-53. Despite playing well in the first half, the little mistakes in the second half lead to defeat.  Caleb Harbertson was the lead scorer finishing with 31 points. Joey Pratt, from the bench, also contributed defense and scoring.

BOYS BASKETBALL BLUE TEAM
On March 8th the blue team suffered a tough loss at Fountain Hills. The Eagles were led by Tommy Billings who had a solid 8 points and 2 assists.

GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM
The girls played two tough games this last week losing to Phoenix Country Day (PCD) on March 6th and to Fountain Hills on March 8th. At PCD, Piper Corey and Annette Lee had outstanding games while Kendall Santacruz and Riley McPherson showed great effort.  Beautiful Corral also provided stellar defense.  The final score was 21-16.

March 8th‘s game at Fountain Hills was a nail biter.  Annalise Hensel and Regina Knight provided valuable minutes off the bench.  Jayden Dykstra and Mackenzie Anderson played with great spirit.  Jessica Leake was a true force defensively and her aggressiveness was awesome to witness.  The final score was 21-20.

ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL DAY SCHEDULE – TESTING – MARK YOUR CALENDAR
In an effort to support our students to perform at their best, Horizon Honors is implementing some changes to our test taking procedures.  More will be shared as we get closer to the testing window, but one change that will impact all students is an alternative schedule we will be following for four days.  This schedule will allow us to test our students only in the morning blocks when they are most ready to perform, minimize the impact on instructional days, prepare middle school age students for computer based testing, review curriculum without disrupting the regular course curriculum, and allow for technology to be available for both testing and classroom use.  Please read each day carefully to understand how your schedule will be affected.
