Announcing the First Emerging Artists Showcase
and 2018 Young Performers Festival Participants


Early Music America is excited to announce the six participants selected for the inaugural Emerging Artists Showcase along with the five university ensembles which will take part in the 8th annual Young Performers Festival - May 24-26, 2018 during the Bloomington Early Music Festival.

Emerging Artists Showcase: Rachell Ellen Wong, Adriana Ruiz, Mélisande McNabney, Costanoan Trio, Voyage Sonique, and Rumore Terribile 
Young Peformers Festival: Case Western Reserve University Baroque Ensemble, Oberlin Baroque, Peabody Baroque: The B’more Bach Ensemble, Tarara (Indiana University), and University of Southern California Collegium Workshop

What role does early music play in your life?

After my Ph.D., anticipating that a career in harpsichord would be financially challenging, I went back to school, obtaining a doctorate in optometry - a profession that has flexibility in continuing side passions. Retired now from optometry, I am a full-time professional player of keyboards, from virginals to harpsichord to fortepiano, performing nearly 30 ensemble and solo performances a year.
