Ann Dews Gleaton, M.A., serves as Missions Director in her church as well as teaching at Tallahassee Christian College & Training Center. Ann has served as Children’s Church Pastor for Christian Heritage Church, writing curriculum and creatively presenting the Gospel. She has taught women’s conferences, Sunday School classes, and Christian education development courses; spoken to youth groups and philanthropic social groups; and instructed men and women inmates. She continues to teach the biblical principle of the Spoken Blessing as described in her book, The Spoken Blessing: A Spiritual Posture.
Participants in Ann’s classes at TCCTC pressed her for a book on the speaking of blessings. The heart of The Spoken Blessing was based on the direst of needs within the Gleaton family. During their early years, Cal and Ann struggled with godly attitudes; or rather, the lack of them! Someone once said: “If you do not change your course, you will end up where you are headed.” Cal and Ann did not want to continue along the path of negative words and irritated attitudes. The compassion and faithfulness of God provided a life-saving change of direction based on the biblical principle of speaking blessings.
Subsequently, Cal and Ann’s children, their spouses and their 8 grandsons (another is “on the way”) have been undergirded, strengthened and directed by the Word of God through the Spoken Blessing. Recently their grandson, Isaac, shared his Birthday Blessings with friends. Isaac, who had grown up with his parents and grandparents speaking blessings over him, was aware of the power of God’s Word and desired to share that with his friends. Can grandparents ask for anything more precious?
In January 2016, Holy Spirit asked Ann how well she knew Him! Thus, Ann studied the Word more avidly and learned to recognize His voice more frequently.  Ann has experienced the sheer delight in hearing the Spirit, obeying His leading and discovering the joys and blessings He pours over her!  Her passion to share this wonderful, promised relationship resulted in a class at TCCTC entitled: Holy Spirit: Our Partner for Life!
Cal and Ann recently retired from owning and operating Hellen’s Uniform Shop.  They are confident that the Lord will continue to guide and direct their steps throughout this new season of life! Ann anticipates writing more and speaks this Blessing over you:

May you not lose heart in doing good, for in due time you shall reap if you do not grow weary. May you look for opportunities to do good for all men, especially those who share your faith in Christ Jesus. May you be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain. May whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Galatians 6:9-10; 1 Corinthians 15:58; 10:31
