Checking in with Mrs. Broderick

Dear Marymount Community,

As October arrives this week, I want to thank you for the more than wonderful welcome to Marymount and Santa Barbara. From class parties to class trips, September was full of celebrating our amazing students and families. We began the celebration of Marymount’s 80th year of excellence in education by recognizing our phenomenal faculty and staff with multiple years of service, and I have been astounded by the amazing generosity of our community with sell-out party books, preparing for our upcoming golf tournament, and kicking off the Marymount Annual Fund Campaign, 100% in 100 Days. A special shout-out to our phenomenal faculty & staff as they have already reached 100% giving for the 2018-19 school year…Bravo!
Whether you are a new family or a “Marymount Lifer”, you might ask why annual giving matters to our school and community? The Marymount Annual Fund is our single most important fundraising effort. Each year, we create an annual budget to support the highest quality educational experience, being mindful of the cost of tuition for every family. We include opportunities for unrestricted giving that are tax-deductible for our current families and committed donors to support teacher salaries and professional development, as well as enhanced learning opportunities and special programs for our students. Gifts to the Annual Fund are directed wherever the need is greatest, creating opportunities for learning and discovery, providing scholarships for students who need them, and giving Marymount the flexibility to take advantage of emerging opportunities, and to respond to unanticipated needs and challenges while ensuring that Marymount remains an inclusive and welcoming community for all students and families. Every gift to the Annual Fund, big or small, is important. We encourage 100% participation from every grade level as a sign of commitment to our school, our students, and our future.
An important part of the Marymount experience includes learning to navigate and understand the world while making an impact and contributing to their most important experience - their education. Marymount is committed to preparing our students to be bright, confident and caring citizens, not only ready for the next adventures of their lives but ready to lead, challenge, and inspire others.
Each year, Marymount succeeds in providing an exceptional educational experience made possible because generations of parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends have generously given to the Annual Fund. Your gift to Marymount helps teach even our youngest students the value of giving back to their community and encourages our students as they aspire to make the world a better place, knowing that those who came before them are behind them all the way.

Along with our fabulous Development team, Andrea McFarling and Alex Dunn, we have an amazing team of Marymount parents leading the 2018-19 Annual Fund committee this year. Please join us in reaching our 100% in 100 Days campaign by November 30.
